Tangled- Rapunzel

Hoo boy. I haven't been on this account for awhile. I've got three big conventions coming up in the next few weeks so I have been swamped with work (on top of my everyday work, life, etc.) Come May, I'll have a bit more free time to update and such.
For now, though, here is a shot of my Rapunzel costume. I'm going to be redoing the braided version so I did long hair for a cmv that needed to be filmed this past weekend. Unfortunately, the front bits of the hair are all crimped from the previous braid since it was styled like that for almost two years Still, it was fun doing this version and the children at the park where we filmed were adorable! They kept waving and ran to show me to their parents lol Definitely made the filming experience even better

Costume Information:
For the skirt, I used a dull satin in a light purple then a plum purple satin for the front panel. I used a flared skirt pattern and altered it as needed. Then I free-hand painted the detailing on the front panel and the rest of the skirt, using images of Rapunzel that I could find on the internet. The whole skirt took me about 25 hours to paint.
I used dull pink satin with a tinge of purple and a corset pattern for the bodice-- heavily altered it. I sewed the pieces together then hand-painted on the detailing. This took about 16 hours. Then I sewed lining and added in the boning. Then I added the lace and pink ribbon over the edges.
I used a pink coiled rope for the front of the bodice.
The sleeves are the same satin as the skirt then I sewed on ribbons for the stripes. Then I gathered the sleeves and added the pink organza for the rest of it.
Total construction time was about 40 hours (not including wig work)

The wig is one wig that is four feet long then I added hair extensions of the same colour to it to make it about 12-14 feet long.
