My cosplay centennial: Princess Serenity.
Unfortunately, I don't know if any solo shots of this cosplay will turn up, but there are a few "family portraits" photos
Oddly, Princess Serenity was not the one I decided to do for my 100th cosplay, but it was between her and one other character (whom I will cosplay soon!) I had picked to do the other character as my 100th instead, but I ran into a problem with that one (didn't get enough fabric and I really just couldn't get to the store to get more due to my work schedule). Then Sakura Con was approaching and I had to focus on those costumes. So in the end, Serenity took the 100th spot. In a way, I'm happy. Sailor Moon holds a very important place in my heart and Princess Serenity has always been a dream cosplay of mine.
The costume itself was sort of frustrating to make, though XD The design and the way it is supposed
to fit really doesn't make sense in real life. The gold bits around the top were sort of confusing, too. I'd like to remake that part of the dress for the next time I wear it.
As for the white shoulder pieces? Well, those were interesting. Looking at the show, I believe them to be armor pieces. The are solid and when Endymion puts his hand over one of them, it stays solid. Now, that could be lazy animation, but just the way it looks (especially the spikes) made me think: armor. So I made them solid instead of fabric. I really like the way they look, but they sure were difficult to wear XD Because I was moving around so much at the con, I had to take them off then put them back on for photos and I eventually just took them off for good.
Overall, I had a fantastic time in this costume and was really happy to have a Princess Chibiusa and, of course, my Endymion. It made the dream cosplay more fun!
